Feature · Run for each record
Enrich every Airtable record with an API call
Instead of importing a list, "Run for each record" takes records from an Airtable view, calls an API once per record with its values, and writes the answer back to the same record.
How it works
- 01
Choose the input
A table or a view such as "Needs enrichment", so only records that need it are processed.
- 02
Use record values in the request
Put
{{record.Domain}}or{{record.URL}}into the URL, a header or the body. - 03
Write back
Map the response to fields of the original record. The preview shows each change before it is applied.
The preview freezes each response, so applying it does not call the API again and does not spend provider credits twice.
What people use it for
AI fields
Summarize, classify or extract with OpenAI or Claude from record values; structured JSON output maps to separate fields.
OCR
Extract text or structured data from images and PDFs in an attachment field with Claude.
Company and profile data
Clearbit company enrichment and LinkedIn profiles through Enrich Layer.
Screenshots and PDFs
Urlbox, ApiFlash or Microlink render a page for each URL into an attachment.
Maps and places
Distance and travel time, geocoding and the best business match with Google Maps.
Prices and rates
Stock quotes, crypto prices and currency conversion for each record.
Action-only runs
Some requests do something instead of returning data: notify an API, submit a URL, post to a service. With "Execute requests only", the preview prepares every request without sending it; a confirmed run sends them and writes nothing to Airtable. The history records each attempt as confirmed, rejected or uncertain, without credentials or response bodies. A prepared preview can be executed only once.
