Feature · History and revert
Undo an import, even after it ran
Airtable has no transaction that spans an import. Rowvela gives you the next best thing: an exact record of what every run changed, and a revert that is previewed like an import.
Run history
- Every run records who or what started it, when, and how many records were created, changed, unchanged or deleted.
- Row details are stored encrypted with previous values and the ids of created records.
- Each row is marked applied, not sent, or uncertain, so a failed run tells you precisely what reached Airtable.
- History is kept according to the plan and swept automatically.
How revert decides
| Situation | What revert does |
|---|---|
| A field still holds the value the run wrote | Restores the previous value |
| A record the run created is unchanged since | Deletes it |
| A record the run deleted | Recreates it (with a new Airtable record id) |
| Someone edited the record after the run | Leaves it alone and lists it |
| The batch result was uncertain | Leaves it alone and lists it |
The revert plan is a preview you review before applying, it rechecks the affected records right before writing, and it does not count toward your plan. A run can be reverted once; a revert itself cannot be reverted.
Comments and links from other tables to a deleted record cannot be restored by recreating it. That is why deletions always need a preview and a threshold.
