# See every change before it reaches Airtable. > Rowvela imports data from REST and GraphQL APIs, CSV, JSON and XML into Airtable. Before a single record is written you get a row-by-row preview of what will be created, changed or deleted, and every run can be reverted. Source: https://rowvela.com/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 Example preview (Stripe customers → Airtable table "Customers"), shown before anything is written: | Change | Match key | Field | In Airtable | Incoming | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | + new | cus_Q8x2 | Email | — | ana@northwind.example | | Δ changed | cus_P2m7 | Plan | Starter | Pro | | Δ changed | cus_P2m7 | MRR | 49 | 99 | | unchanged | cus_L0c4 | Plan | Pro | Pro | | − delete | cus_K1t9 | Record | Bright Labs | not in source | Totals: 12 new, 38 changed, 1,204 unchanged, 1 delete. Only the 51 new, changed and deleted rows are written. ## From API to Airtable in three steps 1. **Connect a source.** Paste a URL or a cURL command, upload a file or pick a template. Rowvela inspects the response, finds the records and suggests pagination. 2. **Map the fields.** Point nested JSON paths at Airtable fields. Expand lists into rows, set a unique match key and let Rowvela create missing fields. 3. **Review and apply.** See every new, changed and deleted record with old and new values. Nothing is written until you approve, and the run can be reverted later. ## Built so an import cannot quietly damage your base Airtable often holds the data a business runs on: customers, orders, stock, a product catalog. An import that overwrites the wrong row costs real money. Rowvela is designed around that risk. - **Preview every change** ([details](https://rowvela.com/features/change-preview/index.md)): New, changed, unchanged and deleted rows with before and after values, plus type and duplicate checks. - **Match on a real key** ([details](https://rowvela.com/features/change-preview/index.md#matching-records)): Updates match on one to three fields you choose. Duplicate or empty keys block the write; there is no matching by row order. - **Review guard for schedules** ([details](https://rowvela.com/features/automation/index.md#review-guard)): A scheduled run that would change an unusual share of the table, or receives far fewer rows, waits for your approval. - **Deletes with brakes** ([details](https://rowvela.com/features/change-preview/index.md#deleting-missing-records)): Records missing from the source can be deleted, but only as part of the preview, never on an empty response, and above a threshold only after confirmation. - **Revert a run** ([details](https://rowvela.com/features/history-and-revert/index.md)): Every run keeps its exact changes. Revert puts changed values back and removes created records, skipping anything edited since. - **Drift check before writing** ([details](https://rowvela.com/features/change-preview/index.md#drift-check)): Right before applying, Rowvela re-reads the table. If someone changed the mapped fields in the meantime, the stale preview is rejected. ## Any API, any file - **REST and GraphQL APIs** ([details](https://rowvela.com/features/api-to-airtable/index.md)): GET, POST, PUT, PATCH and DELETE with JSON bodies; GraphQL queries with variables and cursor pagination. Bearer, API key, Basic, OAuth 1 and 2, AWS Signature V4. - **CSV, JSON, XML and RSS** ([details](https://rowvela.com/features/csv-json-xml-to-airtable/index.md)): From a URL or uploaded to your workspace (up to 250 MB, encrypted at rest). Nested data is flattened by mapping, not by hand. - **40 ready-made templates** ([details](https://rowvela.com/integrations/index.md)): Stripe, Google Sheets, Meta Ads, Pipedrive, OpenAI, Claude and more. A template is a prefilled request you can inspect and change. Pagination is handled for you: page number, offset, cursor, next-page URL and RFC 8288 `Link` headers, detected automatically on the first response. Rowvela finishes only when the source proves there is no more data, so a shorter page never silently truncates an import. ## Runs on a schedule, on a webhook or from Airtable - **Schedules** ([details](https://rowvela.com/features/automation/index.md)): Every few minutes, hourly, daily or on chosen weekdays at a set time in your time zone. - **Webhooks and Airtable buttons** ([details](https://rowvela.com/features/automation/index.md#webhooks-and-buttons)): A private URL starts an import or a sequence; a button field can run it for a single record. - **Run for each record** ([details](https://rowvela.com/features/enrichment/index.md)): Call an API once per Airtable record and write the answer back: enrichment, screenshots, AI fields, OCR. - **Sequences** ([details](https://rowvela.com/features/automation/index.md#sequences)): Chain imports in a fixed order, for example customers before the invoices that link to them. ## Pay for rows that change, not rows that are read In a typical sync most rows are unchanged. Rowvela counts only rows it actually writes (new, changed or deleted) against your plan. Comparing an unchanged row is free. During the pilot Rowvela is free; paid plans follow after it. ## Bring your requests with you Rowvela converts a Data Fetcher JSON export into a Rowvela import: URL, collection, field mappings, merge fields and error settings. Anything it cannot carry over is listed before you save. [How it works](https://rowvela.com/docs/sources/index.md#saved-configurations). ## Common questions ### What is Rowvela? Rowvela is a web app that imports data from REST and GraphQL APIs, CSV, JSON and XML into Airtable. Before every write it shows a row-by-row preview of new, changed and deleted records, and every run can be reverted afterwards. ### Do I need to write code? No. You paste an API URL or a cURL command, pick the list of records in the response, map fields to Airtable columns and review the preview. Formulas and JMESPath are there when you need them, not before. ### Is Rowvela an Airtable extension? No. Rowvela is a separate web app that connects to Airtable with a personal access token or Airtable OAuth. It can still be started from Airtable: through a button field, an automation calling a webhook, or a trigger when records change. ### Can I use Rowvela today? Rowvela is in a free, closed pilot. [Request access](https://rowvela.com/pilot/index.md) and tell us what you want to import; we enable accounts one by one. [All questions and answers](https://rowvela.com/faq/index.md) **Join the pilot** Free during the pilot. Tell us what you want to bring into Airtable. [Request access](https://rowvela.com/pilot/index.md) --- # Everything Rowvela does > Rowvela is one tool for getting outside data into Airtable safely: connect a source, map it, review the changes, and automate it once it is right. Source: https://rowvela.com/features/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 - **Change preview** ([details](https://rowvela.com/features/change-preview/index.md)): See every new, changed, unchanged and deleted Airtable record before an import writes anything. Unique match keys, type checks, duplicate checks and a drift check. - **REST and GraphQL APIs** ([details](https://rowvela.com/features/api-to-airtable/index.md)): Connect any REST or GraphQL API to Airtable: all HTTP methods, JSON bodies, Bearer, API key, Basic, OAuth and AWS SigV4 auth, automatic pagination and cURL import. - **CSV, JSON and XML** ([details](https://rowvela.com/features/csv-json-xml-to-airtable/index.md)): Import CSV, JSON, XML, RSS and Atom into Airtable from a URL or an uploaded file. Update existing records by key, flatten nested data and preview every change first. - **Field mapping** ([details](https://rowvela.com/features/mapping/index.md)): Map nested API data to Airtable: expand lists into rows, typed fields, linked records, attachments, collaborators, expressions, JMESPath and automatic field creation. - **Automation** ([details](https://rowvela.com/features/automation/index.md)): Run Airtable imports on a schedule, from a webhook, an Airtable button or when records change. Sequences, a review guard for unusual changes and automatic pausing. - **Enrichment** ([details](https://rowvela.com/features/enrichment/index.md)): Call an API once for each Airtable record and write the result back: company and profile enrichment, screenshots, maps, currency, AI fields with OpenAI or Claude, OCR. - **History and revert** ([details](https://rowvela.com/features/history-and-revert/index.md)): Every Rowvela run keeps its exact changes. Revert puts changed Airtable values back and removes created records, while leaving anything edited since untouched. ## Teams and workspaces - Workspaces hold imports, connections, files, history and usage; switch between them. - Two roles: **Owner** manages members, roles, billing and the workspace; **Creator** builds and runs imports. - Invitations are single-use, expire after 7 days and only work for the invited email. - Failure and review emails go to verified members; the history shows who started, approved or reverted each run. ## Airtable connections Connect with a personal access token or Airtable OAuth. Rowvela lists your bases and tables, writes to the whole table or a view, reads another base as a source, and refreshes OAuth tokens on its own. Background jobs show progress and can be cancelled at a safe point. ## In the pilot Everything on these pages is implemented. During the pilot, ready-made integration templates are enabled per workspace on request and marked Beta until verified with live accounts. See [integrations](https://rowvela.com/integrations/index.md) for the status of each. --- # Know exactly what an import will change > Rowvela compares the incoming data with the current Airtable table and shows you the result row by row: which records are new, which fields change from what to what, and which records would be deleted. Nothing is written until you approve. Source: https://rowvela.com/features/change-preview/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 Example preview (Stripe customers → Airtable table "Customers"), shown before anything is written: | Change | Match key | Field | In Airtable | Incoming | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | + new | cus_Q8x2 | Email | — | ana@northwind.example | | Δ changed | cus_P2m7 | Plan | Starter | Pro | | Δ changed | cus_P2m7 | MRR | 49 | 99 | | unchanged | cus_L0c4 | Plan | Pro | Pro | | − delete | cus_K1t9 | Record | Bright Labs | not in source | Totals: 12 new, 38 changed, 1,204 unchanged, 1 delete. Only the 51 new, changed and deleted rows are written. ## What the preview shows - **Totals** of new, changed, unchanged and deleted records, and rows with problems. - **Before and after values** for each changed field. Only changed fields are patched; untouched fields keep their value. - **Validation errors** per row: a value that does not fit the field type, an unknown single-select option, a date where a date-time is expected, a duplicate key. - **Warnings** that need a decision, for example when a large share of the table would change. The preview is stored encrypted for ten minutes together with the import revision. Applying it writes exactly what you reviewed. If you edit the import, the preview is discarded and a new one is needed. ## Matching records To update existing records, Rowvela matches on a **key of one to three fields** you choose, for example `Stripe ID` or `Order number` + `Line`. Every part of a composite key must be a non-empty value. If two source rows or two Airtable records share a key, the write is blocked instead of guessing. There is no matching by row position. A source that returns rows in a different order, or a filtered view, never moves data into the wrong record. ### Write modes | Mode | What it does | | --- | --- | | Append | Creates a record for every source row. | | Upsert | Updates records with a matching key and creates the rest. | | Update only | Updates matching records; unmatched rows are reported as skipped, nothing is created. | | Delete missing | Optional with upsert: records whose key no longer appears in the source are deleted, as part of the preview. | | Action only | Sends requests to an API without writing to Airtable at all (see enrichment). | ## Deleting missing records - Deletions are listed in the preview like any other change. - An empty source response never deletes anything. - Above a percentage of the table you set, a manual run needs explicit confirmation and an automated run is held for review. - Deleted records can be restored by reverting the run (as new records; Airtable comments and inbound links cannot be restored). ## Drift check before writing Between the preview and the apply, someone may edit the table. Rowvela fingerprints the mapped fields and their schema when it builds the preview, then re-reads the table right before writing. If the fingerprint differs, the stale preview is rejected and you review again. Formula fields, last-modified fields and other columns you did not map do not invalidate a preview. ## When something goes wrong mid-run Writes go out in batches of ten and every confirmed batch is recorded. Rowvela never automatically replays a batch whose result is uncertain (a timeout, for example), because that could write twice. The run history shows each row as applied, not sent, or uncertain, so you know what to check. **Try the preview on your own data** The pilot is free. Bring an API or a CSV file. [Request access](https://rowvela.com/pilot/index.md) --- # Import any REST or GraphQL API into Airtable > If an API returns JSON, CSV or XML over HTTPS, Rowvela can bring it into Airtable. Paste the URL or a cURL command from the API documentation, inspect the response and map the fields. Source: https://rowvela.com/features/api-to-airtable/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 ## Requests - **Methods:** GET, POST, PUT, PATCH and DELETE. JSON request bodies for everything except GET. - **GraphQL:** query and variables, with cursor pagination through `pageInfo`. - **Headers and query parameters** of your own, plus [workspace variables](https://rowvela.com/features/mapping/index.md#workspace-variables) like `{{api_base}}` reused across imports. - **cURL import:** paste a command copied from API docs or the browser. Rowvela parses it on the server without calling the source, and moves credentials into encrypted storage. - **Files in requests:** send an Airtable attachment as a binary body or multipart file part, for APIs that process documents. ## Authentication | Type | Typical use | | --- | --- | | Bearer token | Stripe, OpenAI, Apify and most modern APIs | | API key in a header or query parameter | `x-api-key`, `apikey`, `access_key` and similar | | Basic | WordPress application passwords, older APIs | | OAuth 2 | Your own OAuth client with authorization code, refresh tokens handled for you | | OAuth 1.0a | APIs that still sign requests with consumer and token secrets | | AWS Signature V4 | Amazon S3 objects and other AWS endpoints | Credentials are encrypted with AES-256-GCM, never sent back to the browser and bound to the source origin. If you change the host or the authentication type, Rowvela asks for the secret again so it cannot be sent somewhere else. ## Pagination that does not lose rows Rowvela supports page number, offset, cursor (from a response field or from the last item, with an optional has-more flag), a next-page URL in the response and the RFC 8288 `Link` header. On the first response it suggests the right mode automatically. - Page and offset modes stop only on an empty page, so an API that returns a shorter page does not cut the import short. - A page or cursor that repeats is reported as an error instead of looping or duplicating rows. - If the page cap is reached while the source still has data, the run fails instead of silently truncating. - Next-page URLs must stay on the source host, so your credentials never follow a link to another server. ## Shaping the response Choose which list in the response holds the records, or reshape the whole response with a JMESPath expression. Nested objects and lists are handled in [mapping](https://rowvela.com/features/mapping/index.md). ## Limits | Limit | Value | | --- | --- | | Response size | 5 MB per response (compressed responses are checked after decompression too) | | Pages per run | up to 500 | | Rows per run and records per table | 100,000 by default, configurable up to 500,000 | | Request timeout | 20 seconds | > Rowvela only connects to public HTTPS hosts on port 443. Private and internal network addresses are blocked, so an import cannot be used to reach servers behind your firewall. --- # Import CSV, JSON and XML into Airtable, and keep it in sync > Airtable's own CSV import creates records. Rowvela also updates the ones you already have, matched on a key, and shows the difference before it writes. Use a file URL that refreshes on a schedule, or upload the file. Source: https://rowvela.com/features/csv-json-xml-to-airtable/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 ## Formats | Format | Details | | --- | --- | | CSV | Header row as field names; UTF-8, with or without BOM. | | JSON | Any structure. Pick the list that holds the records; nested values are mapped by path. | | XML, RSS, Atom | Converted to the same tree as JSON. DTDs are rejected and depth and node counts are bounded. | ## From a URL or uploaded - **URL:** any public HTTPS file, including signed links and Amazon S3 objects. Schedule the import to pick up a file that is regenerated nightly. - **Upload:** UTF-8 `.csv`, `.json` or `.xml` into the workspace file library. Files are streamed in, encrypted in blocks and never get a public URL. Up to 250 MB per file during the pilot, 20 files and 1 GB per workspace. - Uploaded files are immutable: to change the data, upload a new version and build a new preview. That way a preview always refers to exactly one file. ## Why not the built-in Airtable CSV import? | | Airtable CSV import | Rowvela | | --- | --- | --- | | Creates new records | Yes | Yes | | Updates existing records by key | Merge option in the extension | Upsert on one to three key fields | | Shows old and new values first | No | Yes, per field | | Deletes records missing from the file | No | Optional, with preview and threshold | | Repeats on a schedule | No | Yes | | Reverts a mistaken import | Manually | One click, for changes not edited since | | JSON and XML | No | Yes | --- # Turn nested API data into clean Airtable rows > APIs return nested objects and lists; Airtable wants flat rows with typed fields. Rowvela maps one to the other visually, checks every value against the table schema and creates missing fields for you. Source: https://rowvela.com/features/mapping/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 ## From tree to table - **Pick the record list** anywhere in the response, for example `data.items`. - **Map by path:** `customer.address.city` or `items[0].sku` into any field. - **Expand lists into rows:** an order with three line items becomes three rows, with the order fields repeated. Several levels of nesting work, and object keys can become rows too. - **Join lists into one cell** with a separator of your choice, when you want tags rather than rows. - **Fixed values** for fields that should always hold the same thing, such as the source name. ## Airtable field types Each mapping has an explicit type, and Rowvela checks the target field in the Airtable schema before writing: - Text, number, checkbox, date and date-time - Single select and multiple select (unknown options are reported before writing) - **Linked records**, matched by a field in the linked table, optionally creating the missing linked records - **Attachments** from public file URLs; Airtable downloads them when the preview is applied - Collaborator, multiple collaborators and barcode If a mapped field does not exist yet, Rowvela offers to create it with a matching type. ## Expressions and JMESPath A small expression per field runs before type conversion: `value / 100`, `round(value, 2)`, `upper(trim(value))`, `concat("SKU-", text(value))`, `coalesce(value, "n/a")`. It cannot run code, loops or regular expressions, so it is safe to share imports. For bigger reshaping, a JMESPath expression transforms the whole response before mapping, in an isolated worker with time and size limits. ## Workspace variables Define values like `{{region}}` or `{{api_base}}` once per workspace and reuse them in URLs, headers and bodies. Secret variables are encrypted and never shown again after saving. ## Export, import and Data Fetcher migration Any import can be exported as a JSON configuration without its secrets and imported into another workspace. A Data Fetcher export converts into a Rowvela import, with a list of anything that could not be carried over. --- # Keep Airtable up to date without babysitting it > Once an import is right, let it run on its own. Every automated run builds the same preview as a manual one, and Rowvela holds the run for your approval when the changes look unusual. Source: https://rowvela.com/features/automation/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 ## Ways to start a run | Trigger | How it works | | --- | --- | | Schedule | Every N minutes (down to 5), hours or days; optional weekdays and a time of day, in an IANA time zone with daylight-saving time handled. | | Webhook | A private URL; a POST starts the run. GET only shows a confirmation page, so link previews never trigger imports. | | Airtable button | A Button field with a generated formula runs a per-record import for the clicked record. | | Airtable change trigger | Runs when records are created or updated in a table, or enter a view, with loop protection for imports writing to the same table. | | Manual | Preview and apply from the app, with full review. | ## Review guard An API that suddenly returns half its data, or a mapping that shifts every value, should not be applied at 3 a.m. Rowvela holds an automated run instead of writing when: - more than 25% of existing records would change (in tables with at least 20 records), or - the source returns more than 30% fewer rows than the last successful run, or - deletes exceed the threshold you set. Thresholds are adjustable per import. The held run keeps its preview for 24 hours, the owner gets an email, and the import pauses until someone approves (applied exactly as previewed after a fresh drift check) or dismisses it. ## Failures and pausing - After a configurable number of consecutive failures (3 by default), an automated import pauses itself and notifies verified members. - Choose whether to stop on the first rejected batch or skip batches Airtable definitively rejects, up to a limit. - Treat an empty response as an error, or treat listed status codes such as 404 as "no data". - Imports waiting in the queue survive a server restart; running ones are marked failed, never replayed. ## Sequences A sequence runs several imports in a fixed order, for example customers first, then invoices that link to them. Each step uses the same preview and review guard. You decide whether a failed step stops the sequence. Sequences can be run by hand, scheduled, called by webhook or triggered by changes in Airtable. ## Webhooks and buttons Webhook tokens are stored only as hashes and limited to 60 calls per hour per import. Add `?record_id=` to run a per-record import for one record, which is what the generated Airtable button formula does. --- # Enrich every Airtable record with an API call > Instead of importing a list, "Run for each record" takes records from an Airtable view, calls an API once per record with its values, and writes the answer back to the same record. Source: https://rowvela.com/features/enrichment/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 ## How it works 1. **Choose the input.** A table or a view such as "Needs enrichment", so only records that need it are processed. 2. **Use record values in the request.** Put `{{record.Domain}}` or `{{record.URL}}` into the URL, a header or the body. 3. **Write back.** Map the response to fields of the original record. The preview shows each change before it is applied. The preview freezes each response, so applying it does not call the API again and does not spend provider credits twice. ## What people use it for - **AI fields** ([details](https://rowvela.com/integrations/ai-fields/index.md)): Summarize, classify or extract with OpenAI or Claude from record values; structured JSON output maps to separate fields. - **OCR** ([details](https://rowvela.com/integrations/ocr/index.md)): Extract text or structured data from images and PDFs in an attachment field with Claude. - **Company and profile data** ([details](https://rowvela.com/integrations/enrich-layer/index.md)): Clearbit company enrichment and LinkedIn profiles through Enrich Layer. - **Screenshots and PDFs** ([details](https://rowvela.com/integrations/microlink/index.md)): Urlbox, ApiFlash or Microlink render a page for each URL into an attachment. - **Maps and places** ([details](https://rowvela.com/integrations/google-maps/index.md)): Distance and travel time, geocoding and the best business match with Google Maps. - **Prices and rates** ([details](https://rowvela.com/integrations/currency-conversion/index.md)): Stock quotes, crypto prices and currency conversion for each record. ## Action-only runs Some requests do something instead of returning data: notify an API, submit a URL, post to a service. With "Execute requests only", the preview prepares every request without sending it; a confirmed run sends them and writes nothing to Airtable. The history records each attempt as confirmed, rejected or uncertain, without credentials or response bodies. A prepared preview can be executed only once. --- # Undo an import, even after it ran > Airtable has no transaction that spans an import. Rowvela gives you the next best thing: an exact record of what every run changed, and a revert that is previewed like an import. Source: https://rowvela.com/features/history-and-revert/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 ## Run history - Every run records who or what started it, when, and how many records were created, changed, unchanged or deleted. - Row details are stored encrypted with previous values and the ids of created records. - Each row is marked applied, not sent, or uncertain, so a failed run tells you precisely what reached Airtable. - History is kept according to the plan and swept automatically. ## How revert decides | Situation | What revert does | | --- | --- | | A field still holds the value the run wrote | Restores the previous value | | A record the run created is unchanged since | Deletes it | | A record the run deleted | Recreates it (with a new Airtable record id) | | Someone edited the record after the run | Leaves it alone and lists it | | The batch result was uncertain | Leaves it alone and lists it | The revert plan is a preview you review before applying, it rechecks the affected records right before writing, and it does not count toward your plan. A run can be reverted once; a revert itself cannot be reverted. > Comments and links from other tables to a deleted record cannot be restored by recreating it. That is why deletions always need a preview and a threshold. --- # Bring any service into Airtable > 40 ready-made templates for popular APIs, and a request builder for everything else. You need an Airtable base you can edit and a source: an API URL, a CSV or JSON file, or a cURL command from API documentation. Source: https://rowvela.com/docs/getting-started/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 ## Before you start - During the pilot, accounts are by invitation. Use the link from your invitation email or sign up with the email address that was approved. - Confirm your email address from the message Rowvela sends you. Until then you do not get failure and review notifications. - Every new workspace contains **Product catalog · example**, an import that writes sample data into a demo table inside Rowvela. Run it to see the whole flow without touching Airtable. 1. **Connect Airtable.** Open **Settings → Airtable connections** and select **Connect with Airtable**, or add a personal access token. See [Airtable connections](https://rowvela.com/docs/airtable-connections/index.md) for the scopes the token needs. 2. **Create the import.** Select **New import**, give it a name, and choose **Connect a URL** or **Upload a file**. For an API, pick the **Source format**, paste the **Source URL** and set **Authentication**. Select **Inspect source** to see the data Rowvela received. 3. **Choose the records.** If the response is an object, set the **Collection path** to the list that holds the records, for example `data.items`. If Rowvela says the response looks like one page of many, accept the suggested pagination. Select **Continue to mapping**. 4. **Choose the destination.** Set **Destination** to **Airtable**, then the **Saved connection**, **Base** and **Table**. Leave **Schedule** on **Manual only** for now. 5. **Map the fields.** Each row maps a **Source field** such as `product.name` to a **Destination field** in Airtable with a data type. Fields that do not exist in Airtable yet can be created with **Create them in Airtable**. 6. **Decide how records are written.** Under **How should records be written?** choose **Update matching records, create new ones** and pick the field in **Match existing records by**, for example an order number. A second run then updates rows instead of adding duplicates. 7. **Preview and run.** Select **Preview changes**. Rowvela lists new, changed, unchanged and deleted records with their old and new values. Nothing has been written yet. If it looks right, select **Run import**. ## After the first run - The run appears in **Run history** with its counts. Open it to see every change, or select **Revert this run** to put things back. See [Review and revert](https://rowvela.com/docs/review-and-revert/index.md). - To keep the table up to date, open the import again and set a **Schedule**, or start it from a webhook or an Airtable button. See [Automation](https://rowvela.com/docs/automation/index.md). - Stuck or something looks wrong? Use **Send feedback** in the sidebar and tell us what you were trying to do. --- # Airtable connections > Rowvela writes to Airtable through a connection saved in your workspace. A connection is either an Airtable sign-in (OAuth) or a personal access token. Members of the workspace can use it in their imports, but nobody can read the token back. Source: https://rowvela.com/docs/airtable-connections/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 ## Sign in with Airtable In **Settings → Airtable connections**, select **Connect with Airtable** and choose the bases Rowvela may use. Rowvela refreshes the access on its own. If you later need another base, connect again and add it. The button is shown only when the installation has Airtable OAuth set up. ## Use a personal access token 1. In Airtable, open the [developer hub](https://airtable.com/create/tokens) and create a personal access token. 2. Add the scopes below and, under **Access**, add the bases Rowvela should write to or read from. 3. In Rowvela, select **Add connection** (or **Use a token instead**), enter a name and paste the token. After saving, the token is never shown again. | Scope | Needed for | | --- | --- | | `data.records:read` | Reading the table to compare it with the source | | `data.records:write` | Creating, updating and deleting records | | `schema.bases:read` | Listing bases, tables, views and fields, and checking field types | | `schema.bases:write` | Optional: **Create them in Airtable** for missing fields | | `webhook:manage` | Optional: [Airtable change triggers](https://rowvela.com/docs/automation/index.md#airtable-change-triggers) | ## Base, table and view In an import, choose the **Saved connection**, then the **Base** and **Table**. If bases cannot be listed, enter the IDs from the Airtable URL: `https://airtable.com/appXXXXXXXX/tblYYYYYYYY/…` contains the base ID (`app…`) and the table ID (`tbl…`). A **Destination view** limits matching and deletion to the records in that view. Rowvela cannot see view filters, so a record outside the view with the same key can be duplicated, and an updated record can drop out of a filtered view. Leave it on **Entire table** unless you need it. > Airtable permissions still apply. A token or sign-in can only do what the Airtable user behind it may do in that base. --- # Sources > The first step of an import says where the data comes from. Rowvela reads public HTTPS addresses and files you upload, and shows you the response before anything else happens. Source: https://rowvela.com/docs/sources/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 ## Source formats | Source format | Use it for | | --- | --- | | REST API · JSON | Most APIs. Choose the list of records with **Collection path**. | | GraphQL | GraphQL endpoints: **GraphQL query**, **Variables (JSON object)** and an optional operation name. | | CSV file | CSV with a header row, UTF-8. The header names become source fields. | | XML / RSS / Atom | XML documents and feeds, converted to the same structure as JSON. | | Public image · attachment URL | An image URL written into an attachment field. | ## Requests - **Request method:** GET, POST, PUT, PATCH or DELETE. Inspecting and previewing send the request, so a PUT, PATCH or DELETE changes the source each time. - **Request body:** JSON, form URL encoded, form-data with text and files, plain text, XML, or an Airtable attachment as a binary body. - **Paste a cURL command** (under the source settings) to fill in the URL, method, headers and body from API documentation. Credentials in the command move to encrypted storage. - Headers and query parameters of your own, with [workspace variables](https://rowvela.com/docs/authentication/index.md#workspace-variables) such as `{{api_base}}`. - Retries happen automatically only for GET requests, so a failed POST is never sent twice. ## Uploaded files Choose **Upload a file** and add a UTF-8 `.csv`, `.json` or `.xml` file. Files are stored encrypted in the workspace and never get a public link. A file cannot be changed after upload: to import new data, upload a new version and preview again. During the pilot a file can have up to 250 MB, and a workspace up to 20 files and 1 GB. ## Another Airtable base Set **Authentication** to **Existing Airtable connection** to read a table or view from Airtable as the source, then map it like any API. ## Saved configurations and Data Fetcher On the overview, **Import configuration** loads an import exported from Rowvela, or a request exported from Data Fetcher. Exports never contain secrets, so choose the connection and credentials again. A converted Data Fetcher request lists what could not be carried over; review it, choose the match field and preview before running. ## Limits | Limit | Value | | --- | --- | | Response size | 5 MB per response | | Pages per run | up to 500 | | Records per run and per table | 100,000 by default | | Request timeout | 20 seconds | > Rowvela connects only to public HTTPS addresses on port 443. Private and internal network addresses are blocked, and redirects are not followed. --- # Authentication and variables > Most APIs need a key or a token. Choose how the source expects it under **Authentication**. Secrets are encrypted, never shown again and bound to the host you entered them for. Source: https://rowvela.com/docs/authentication/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 ## Authentication types | Authentication | When to use it | | --- | --- | | Bearer token | The API documentation says `Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN`. | | API key in header | A key in a header such as `X-API-Key`; set the **Header name**. | | API key in URL parameter | A key in the query string such as `?apikey=…`; set the **Parameter name**. | | Username and password (Basic) | Basic authentication, for example WordPress application passwords. | | Custom OAuth 2 | Your own OAuth client. Set it up once in Settings, then choose the **OAuth 2 connection**. | | OAuth 1.0a | APIs that sign requests with consumer and token secrets. | | AWS Signature V4 | Amazon S3 objects and other AWS endpoints. | | Existing Airtable connection | Reading from another Airtable base. | If you change the source host or the authentication type, Rowvela asks for the secret again, so a saved key cannot be sent to a different server. Never put a key directly into the URL; use the API key field instead. ## OAuth 2 connections 1. Register an OAuth app at the provider with the callback URL Rowvela shows in **Settings → OAuth 2 connections** (it ends with `/api/oauth2/callback`). Client-credentials apps need no callback. 2. Add the connection with its authorization URL, token URL, API base URL, client ID, client secret and scopes. 3. Select connect, sign in at the provider, and choose the connection in the import. Rowvela refreshes the access token on its own. ## Workspace variables In **Settings → Workspace variables**, define values like `api_base` or `region` once and use them as `{{api_base}}` in URLs, headers and bodies of every import. Select **Add variable**; turn on **Secret value** for keys and passwords, which are then stored encrypted and never shown again. --- # Pagination > Many APIs return records in pages. Set **Pagination** so Rowvela requests every page in one run. After **Inspect source**, Rowvela usually recognises the pattern and suggests the right setting. Source: https://rowvela.com/docs/pagination/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 ## Modes | Pagination | The API… | | --- | --- | | Single response | returns all records at once. | | Page number | takes a page parameter such as `page=2`. | | Record offset | takes the number of records to skip, such as `offset=100`. | | Cursor | returns a token for the next page, in a response field or as the last item’s ID. | | Next page URL in the response | returns the full URL of the next page, for example `links.next`. | | Link header | sends the next page in an HTTP `Link` header. | Set the **Parameter name**, **Starting value** and **Page size** the API expects. **Send pagination in** chooses URL parameters or the JSON body, request headers, or a `{page}` placeholder in the URL path. ## When pagination ends - **Stop at an empty page** is the safe default: a shorter page does not end the import early. - **API always returns full pages · stop at a shorter page** saves one request when the API is reliable about page sizes. - A cursor import can also stop on a **Has-more flag** such as `has_more`. - If a page or cursor repeats, the run fails instead of looping or duplicating rows. If the page limit is reached while the source still has data, the run fails instead of importing only part of it. > Next-page URLs must stay on the source host, so your credentials are never sent to another server. --- # Field mapping > The mapping says which source value goes into which Airtable field, and as what type. Rowvela checks every mapping against the table schema before the preview, so a wrong type is reported instead of written. Source: https://rowvela.com/docs/mapping/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 ## Choose the records - **Collection path** points at the list of records in the response, for example `data.items`. Leave it empty when the response itself is the list. - **Expand nested lists (optional)** turns each item of a nested list into its own row. An order with three line items becomes three rows; parent values stay available as `$parent.id`. Add more levels for lists inside lists. - **JMESPath transformation (optional)** reshapes the whole response first, for bigger changes than a path can express. ## Map fields Each row has a **Source field** (a path such as `customer.address.city` or `tags[0]`), a **Destination field** (the Airtable field name) and a data type. Use **Add field mapping** for more rows. After **Inspect source**, Rowvela suggests mappings from the sample; **Refresh source fields · no quota used** fetches the source again without writing anything. - **Add fixed value** writes the same value into every record, for example the name of the source. - **Add Airtable cell value** reads a value from a cell in Airtable once per preview, for example a date to filter by. - **Create them in Airtable** creates mapped fields that do not exist yet, with a matching type. - **Add numbered fields from sample** keeps one record per source item and puts list positions into numbered fields instead of separate rows. ## Data types | Type | Airtable fields | Notes | | --- | --- | --- | | Text | Single line, long text, rich text, email, URL, phone, single select | A single-select value must be an existing choice. | | Number | Number, currency, percent, duration, rating | Rating accepts whole values from 1 to its maximum. | | Boolean | Checkbox | An empty value means unchecked. | | Date | Date, date and time | Date fields take `YYYY-MM-DD`; date-time fields take a full ISO time. | | Multi-select | Multiple select | Choices must already exist. | | Barcode | Barcode | Text keeps leading zeroes. | | User / Users (multiple) | Collaborator fields | A user ID, or an email of someone already in the base. | | Linked records | Link to another record | Matched by a field in the linked table; missing records can be created. | | Attachments from URLs | Attachment | Public file URLs; Airtable downloads the files when the import runs. | Computed fields (formula, rollup, lookup, autonumber, created and last-modified time) cannot be written. For attachments, **Attachment write mode** chooses **Add to existing attachments** or **Write only if the cell is empty**. ## Expressions Under **Value settings**, an **Expression (optional)** changes a value before it is converted: `value / 100`, `round(value, 2)`, `upper(trim(value))`, `concat("SKU-", text(value))`, `coalesce(value, "n/a")`. Available functions are `upper`, `lower`, `trim`, `text`, `number`, `abs`, `round`, `concat` and `coalesce`. Use double quotes for text. --- # Writing to Airtable > Rowvela compares the source with the table and writes only what differs. How it does that is set under **How should records be written?** and **Match existing records by**. Source: https://rowvela.com/docs/writing-to-airtable/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 ## Write modes | Option | What happens | | --- | --- | | Create new records only | Every source row becomes a new record on every run. Use it only when the source returns new items each time; a scheduled run otherwise duplicates rows. | | Update matching records, create new ones | Updates records with the same key and creates the rest. The usual choice. | | Update matching records only | Updates records with the same key; rows without a match are listed as skipped. | ## Match keys Choose one to three fields in **Match existing records by**, for example `Order ID`, or `Order ID` + `Line`. Every part of the key must have a value. If two source rows or two Airtable records share a key, the preview blocks the write instead of guessing. Records are never matched by their position. Only changed fields are updated. Fields you did not map keep their values. ## Deleting records missing from the source With an update mode, **Delete records that are no longer in the source** removes records whose key the source no longer returns. - Deletions are listed in the preview like every other change. - Nothing is deleted when the source returns no rows. - Above the share set in **Ask for confirmation when more than this share of the table would be deleted**, a manual run asks you to confirm and an automated run waits for your review. - With a **Destination view**, only records in that view can be deleted. - Reverting the run brings deleted records back as new records. Their comments and links from other tables cannot be restored. ## Errors while writing Rowvela writes in batches of ten. Under **Error handling**: - **When Airtable rejects a batch:** **Stop the run**, or **Skip that batch and continue** up to **Stop after this many rejected batches**. - **Pause automation after failed runs in a row** pauses a scheduled import after repeated failures (3 by default) and emails verified members. - **Source status codes that mean “no data”** treats, for example, a 404 as an empty result instead of an error. > If a batch times out, Rowvela does not know whether Airtable stored it, so it never sends it again on its own. The run details mark those rows as uncertain; check them in Airtable before running again. ## Run for each record Instead of importing a list, **Run for each record** sends the request once for each record of an Airtable table or view and writes the answer back to that record, for example to enrich companies by their domain. Add record values such as `{{record.Domain}}` to the URL, headers or body. Set **Maximum input records per run** to control cost. Records are matched by their Airtable ID and are never created. --- # Automation > Once a manual run gives the result you want, let the import run on its own. Automated runs use the saved mapping without a manual preview, but Rowvela still checks every run and holds unusual ones for your review. Source: https://rowvela.com/docs/automation/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 ## Schedules In the import, set **Schedule** to **Every 15 minutes**, **Every hour**, **Every day** or **Custom…**, and keep **Enable automatic runs for this schedule** checked. A custom schedule sets **Every** and **Unit**, the time of day (**At**), the **Time zone** and the days of the week; daylight-saving time is handled. ## Pause unusual runs With **Pause unusual runs for my review** on, an automated run is not written when it looks wrong. Instead it waits in **Run history** and verified members get an email. The defaults: - **Review when more than this share of records would change:** 25%, in tables with at least 20 records. - **Review when the source returns this much less than last time:** 30%, compared with the last successful run of at least 20 rows. - Deletions above the threshold you set for [deleting missing records](https://rowvela.com/docs/writing-to-airtable/index.md#delete-missing). While a run waits, later automated runs of that import wait too. See [Review and revert](https://rowvela.com/docs/review-and-revert/index.md#approving-a-held-run). ## Webhooks 1. Save the import, open it and expand **Webhook URL**. 2. Select **Create webhook URL** and copy it. It is shown only once; anyone with the URL can start the import, so keep it private. 3. Call it with an HTTP POST from Airtable Automations, Zapier, Make or any other system. Opening it in a browser only shows a confirmation page. A webhook can start an import up to 60 times per hour. **Create a new URL** replaces the old one, which stops working immediately. ## Airtable buttons For an import that uses [Run for each record](https://rowvela.com/docs/writing-to-airtable/index.md#run-for-each-record), the webhook panel also shows an **Airtable button formula**. In Airtable, add a Button field with the action “Open URL” and paste the formula. A click opens a confirmation page and runs the import for that one record. ## Airtable change triggers Expand **Airtable trigger** to start the import when records change in an Airtable table. Choose the **Changes that start the import**: **Record created**, **Record updated**, **Record deleted** or **Record entered the view** (with a **Watched view**), then select **Create trigger**. - The Airtable connection needs the `webhook:manage` scope. - Changes made through the Airtable API are ignored unless you turn on **Also react to changes made through the Airtable API**. Rowvela refuses settings where its own writes would start the import again. - For a Run for each record import, only the changed records are requested. ## Sequences A sequence runs saved imports in a fixed order, for example customers before the invoices that link to them. On the **Sequences** page, add imports with **Add import to sequence**, choose **Stop on error** or **Continue after errors**, and save. A sequence can run by hand, on a schedule, from a webhook or from an Airtable trigger. Each step is checked like a single import. --- # Review and revert > Every run is recorded with its exact changes. You can inspect it, approve a run that was held for review, and revert a run that wrote the wrong data. Source: https://rowvela.com/docs/review-and-revert/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 ## The preview - Totals of **New records**, changed, **Unchanged**, **Skipped (no match)** and **To delete**, with the old and new value of every changed field. - Errors that block the run, such as a value that does not fit the field type or a duplicate key, are listed under **Resolve these issues before importing.** - Warnings that need a decision are listed under **Take a closer look before importing.** - A preview is valid for ten minutes. If you edit the import or someone changes the mapped fields in Airtable meanwhile, Rowvela asks you to preview again instead of writing stale changes. ## Run history **Run history** lists every run with who or what started it and how many records it created, changed or deleted. Open a run to see each row. Rows are marked as applied, not sent or uncertain, so a failed run tells you exactly what reached Airtable. History is kept for 31 or 90 days depending on the plan. ## Approving a held run A run held by the review guard shows **Waiting for your review**. Open it, check the changes and select **Approve and import** to write exactly those changes, or **Dismiss** to drop them. A held run expires after 24 hours; dismiss it and preview the import again. ## Reverting a run Open the run and select **Revert this run**. Rowvela shows a preview of what it will put back; nothing changes until you confirm. | Situation | What revert does | | --- | --- | | A field still holds the value the run wrote | Restores the previous value | | A record the run created is unchanged since | Deletes it | | A record the run deleted | Creates it again, with a new Airtable record ID | | Someone edited the record after the run | Leaves it alone and lists it | | The run could not confirm a batch | Leaves those rows alone and lists them | Each run can be reverted once, and a revert cannot be reverted; run the import again instead. Reverts do not count towards your monthly rows. --- # Team and account > A workspace holds imports, connections, files, run history and usage. You can belong to several workspaces and switch between them at the top of the sidebar. Source: https://rowvela.com/docs/team-and-account/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 ## Roles | Role | Can | | --- | --- | | Owner | Invite and remove members, change roles, rename or delete the workspace and manage billing, plus everything a Creator can do. | | Creator | Add connections and variables, upload files, and build, run, approve and revert imports and sequences. | ## Inviting people In **Settings → Team**, enter an address in **Invite by email**, choose the role and send the invitation. The link works once, only for that email address, and expires after 7 days. ## Usage **Rows this month** in the sidebar counts the records an import wrote: new, changed and deleted rows. Unchanged rows and reverts do not count. **Settings → Usage this month** shows the details and the limits of your plan. During the pilot, limits are set for each workspace by the Rowvela team. ## Notifications Rowvela emails verified members of the workspace when an automated run fails, when an import pauses after repeated failures, and when a run waits for review. Confirm your email address to receive them. ## Your account - Change your name, email address and password in **Settings → Your account**. When the email changes, the previous address gets a notice. - **Delete account** in Settings erases your account and the workspaces only you belong to, with all their imports, connections, files and history. You leave shared workspaces; if you are their last owner, make someone else an owner first. ## Getting help Use **Send feedback** in the sidebar to tell us what is unclear, broken or missing; the note includes the screen you were on. Where a **Support** link is shown at the bottom of the sidebar, it opens an email to the support team. --- # How to choose an Airtable import tool > Getting API data into Airtable once is easy. Keeping a table of customers, orders or stock in sync every hour without ever overwriting the wrong record is harder. These are the questions worth asking of any tool, including ours. Source: https://rowvela.com/compare/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 ## Write safety | Ask | Why it matters | Rowvela | | --- | --- | --- | | Can I see the changes before anything is written? | A wrong mapping or a changed API is caught before it reaches your table, not after. | Row-by-row preview of new, changed, unchanged and deleted records with old and new values. | | How are existing records matched? | Matching by row order or by an ambiguous field can overwrite the wrong record when the source changes order. | Upsert needs a key of one to three fields; duplicate or empty keys block the write. | | When does it delete records? | An empty or partial response must never wipe a table. | Deletes are optional, listed in the preview, never happen on an empty response and need confirmation above a threshold. | | How does it know the last page was reached? | Stopping at the first short page silently imports only part of the data. | Stops on an empty page or when the API says there are no more pages; a repeated page or a reached cap is an error. | | What happens when a scheduled run looks unusual? | Automated runs happen when nobody is watching. | Runs that would change more than 25% of records or lose more than 30% of rows wait for approval. | | Can I undo a run? | Mistakes happen; the question is how much work they cost. | Every run keeps field-level history and can be reverted, leaving anything edited since untouched. | ## Practical questions | Ask | Rowvela | | --- | --- | | Where does it run? | A separate web app connected to Airtable by OAuth or a personal access token. | | Which sources does it read? | REST with any method, GraphQL, CSV, JSON, XML and RSS by URL or upload, and other Airtable bases. | | How often can it run? | On a schedule down to every 5 minutes, from webhooks, Airtable buttons and triggers. | | Does it work for a team? | Owner and Creator roles in every workspace, with history of who ran what. | | Can it move my existing setups? | It imports exported configurations; see [sources](https://rowvela.com/docs/sources/index.md#saved-configurations). | | Does it have a fixed outbound IP? | Not yet. APIs that allow only listed IP addresses cannot be used. | ## Pricing to look at Check what a plan counts. In a typical sync most rows are unchanged, so a limit on records read grows with the size of the source, while a limit on records written grows only with real changes. Rowvela counts only rows it writes (new, changed or deleted). During the pilot Rowvela is free; paid plans will be announced after it. **Test it on your own data** Bring the import that worries you most. We help with the first setup during the pilot. [Request access](https://rowvela.com/pilot/index.md) --- # Your tokens and data, handled with care > An import tool holds keys to your Airtable bases and to the APIs you connect. These are the safeguards Rowvela applies, in plain terms. Source: https://rowvela.com/security/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 ## Secrets - Airtable tokens, API keys, OAuth tokens, uploaded files, previews and run history are encrypted at rest with **AES-256-GCM**. - Secrets are never returned to the browser, never included in exported configurations and never written to logs. - A stored credential is bound to the source host and authentication type. Changing either requires entering the secret again, so it cannot be redirected to another server. - OAuth uses authorization code with PKCE where the provider supports it; refresh tokens rotate and are refreshed one at a time. ## Accounts and sessions - Passwords are hashed with scrypt (N=2¹⁴, r=8, p=5). Unknown accounts take the same time to check, so sign-in does not reveal who has an account. - Sessions use random HttpOnly, SameSite=Strict, Secure cookies. Only hashes of session ids, invitation, reset and webhook tokens are stored. - Every change requires a CSRF token; cross-origin requests are rejected. - Failed sign-ins are throttled per address, per account and per address and account together, so a stranger cannot lock you out. - Changing the account email notifies the previous address. ## Network - Sources must be public HTTPS hosts on port 443. DNS answers are validated and pinned, and private, loopback and reserved addresses are refused. This prevents server-side request forgery against internal networks. - Redirects, credentials in URLs and unsafe headers are rejected; TLS certificates are always validated. - Responses are capped at 5 MB, including after decompression, to stop compression bombs. - Airtable requests go only to `api.airtable.com`. Uncertain writes are never replayed automatically. ## Isolation and access - All data belongs to a workspace, and every query is scoped to it. Imports cannot reference connections, files or imports of another workspace. - Owners manage members and connections; Creators build and run imports. - User expressions run in a restricted grammar; JMESPath transforms run in an isolated worker with limits. ## Operations - The database is backed up automatically at least daily with an integrity check and rotation. - The encryption key is not part of database backups, so a leaked backup alone does not expose secrets. - The app sends a strict Content Security Policy and HSTS, and embeds no third-party analytics or tracking. - Unexpected server errors are reported to the operator by email with tokens masked. An internal review in October 2026 covered workspace isolation on every route, CSRF and origin checks, sessions, brute force, SSRF, XSS, SQL and formula injection, webhook signatures and dependencies. An external penetration test is planned before public launch. ## Data sent to providers When you use a template, the values you choose (a domain, a URL, a prompt, an attachment) are sent to that provider under its own terms. Each integration page says what is sent. Rowvela itself does not use your data to train models and does not sell or share it. --- # Questions and answers > Short answers to what people ask most about Rowvela. Missing something? Ask in your [pilot request](https://rowvela.com/pilot/index.md). Source: https://rowvela.com/faq/ · Updated: 2026-10-28 ## About Rowvela ### What is Rowvela? ## Importing data ### How do I import data from an API into Airtable? In Rowvela, create an import, paste the API URL (or a cURL command), add credentials, and inspect the response. Choose the list that holds the records, map fields to Airtable columns, set a match key and review the preview. Apply it once, or put it on a schedule. [Details](https://rowvela.com/features/api-to-airtable/index.md). ### Can Rowvela update existing Airtable records instead of creating duplicates? Yes. Upsert matches incoming rows to existing records on one to three key fields you choose, updates only the fields that changed and creates the rest. Duplicate or empty keys block the write, so records are never matched by position. [Details](https://rowvela.com/features/change-preview/index.md#matching-records). ### Can I import nested JSON into Airtable? Yes. Map any nested path to a field, expand lists into separate rows (several levels deep), join lists into one cell, or reshape the response with JMESPath first. [Details](https://rowvela.com/features/mapping/index.md). ### Which pagination types are supported? Page number, offset, cursor, next-page URL and RFC 8288 Link headers, for GET and POST requests and GraphQL. Rowvela suggests the right one from the first response and stops only when the source proves there is no more data. ### How large can a table or import be? Up to 100,000 records per table and per run by default, configurable up to 500,000. Each API response can be up to 5 MB, with up to 500 pages per run. Uploaded files can be up to 250 MB during the pilot. ### Can Rowvela write linked records and attachments? Yes. Linked records are matched by a field in the linked table and can be created when missing. Attachments are written from public file URLs, which Airtable downloads when the preview is applied. ### Can I import data from one Airtable base into another? Yes. Use an existing Airtable connection as the source, choose a table or a view, and map it like any API. [Details](https://rowvela.com/integrations/airtable-source/index.md). ## Safety ### What happens if an import writes the wrong data? Revert the run. Rowvela restores the previous values of fields that still hold what the run wrote, removes records it created and recreates records it deleted. Anything edited since is left alone and listed. [Details](https://rowvela.com/features/history-and-revert/index.md). ### Can Rowvela delete records that are no longer in the source? Yes, if you turn it on. Deletions appear in the preview, never happen when the source returns no rows, and above a threshold need confirmation; scheduled runs are held for review instead. ### What stops a scheduled import from overwriting everything? The review guard. If a run would change more than 25% of existing records, or the source returns more than 30% fewer rows than last time, the run waits for approval and the owner gets an email. Thresholds are adjustable. ### How are my Airtable tokens and API keys stored? Encrypted with AES-256-GCM, never returned to the browser or included in exports, and bound to the source host they were entered for. [Security](https://rowvela.com/security/index.md). ## Automation and enrichment ### How often can an import run? As often as every 5 minutes, or hourly, daily, on chosen weekdays and at a time in your time zone. Imports can also run from a webhook, an Airtable button or when records change. ### Can I enrich existing Airtable records with an API? Yes. "Run for each record" calls an API once per record in a view, using its values, and writes the answer back to the same record. Use it for AI fields, OCR, company data, screenshots and more. [Details](https://rowvela.com/features/enrichment/index.md). ### Can I run imports in a fixed order? Yes, with sequences: for example customers before the invoices that link to them. A sequence can run manually, on a schedule, from a webhook or from an Airtable change. ## Pilot and pricing ### How much does Rowvela cost? The pilot is free. Paid plans follow after it, with a free tier, and count only rows that Rowvela writes (new, changed or deleted). Unchanged rows are never counted. ### Which integrations are available in the pilot? All core features are available. Ready-made templates are enabled per workspace on request and marked Beta; ready-made Google, Meta, Zoho and Xero OAuth connections follow after the pilot. [Integrations](https://rowvela.com/integrations/index.md). ### Can I move my Data Fetcher requests to Rowvela? Yes. Rowvela converts a Data Fetcher JSON export into an import and lists anything that could not be carried over. [How to import a configuration](https://rowvela.com/docs/sources/index.md#saved-configurations). --- # Join the pilot > Rowvela is in a closed pilot with a small group of teams. Plans count only rows Rowvela writes (new, changed or deleted), never unchanged rows, so a sync that mostly confirms existing data stays cheap. Pilot participants hear about pricing first. ## Request access Use the form at https://rowvela.com/pilot/ (fields: name, work email, optional company, and what you want to import into Airtable). --- # Privacy notice > This notice covers the Rowvela website and the pilot request form.
