Sources

The first step of an import says where the data comes from. Rowvela reads public HTTPS addresses and files you upload, and shows you the response before anything else happens.

Source formats

Source formatUse it for
REST API · JSONMost APIs. Choose the list of records with Collection path.
GraphQLGraphQL endpoints: GraphQL query, Variables (JSON object) and an optional operation name.
CSV fileCSV with a header row, UTF-8. The header names become source fields.
XML / RSS / AtomXML documents and feeds, converted to the same structure as JSON.
Public image · attachment URLAn image URL written into an attachment field.

Requests

Uploaded files

Choose Upload a file and add a UTF-8 .csv, .json or .xml file. Files are stored encrypted in the workspace and never get a public link. A file cannot be changed after upload: to import new data, upload a new version and preview again. During the pilot a file can have up to 250 MB, and a workspace up to 20 files and 1 GB.

Another Airtable base

Set Authentication to Existing Airtable connection to read a table or view from Airtable as the source, then map it like any API.

Saved configurations and Data Fetcher

On the overview, Import configuration loads an import exported from Rowvela, or a request exported from Data Fetcher. Exports never contain secrets, so choose the connection and credentials again. A converted Data Fetcher request lists what could not be carried over; review it, choose the match field and preview before running.
