Automation

Once a manual run gives the result you want, let the import run on its own. Automated runs use the saved mapping without a manual preview, but Rowvela still checks every run and holds unusual ones for your review.

Schedules

In the import, set Schedule to Every 15 minutes, Every hour, Every day or Custom…, and keep Enable automatic runs for this schedule checked. A custom schedule sets Every and Unit, the time of day (At), the Time zone and the days of the week; daylight-saving time is handled.

Pause unusual runs

With Pause unusual runs for my review on, an automated run is not written when it looks wrong. Instead it waits in Run history and verified members get an email. The defaults:

While a run waits, later automated runs of that import wait too. See Review and revert.

Webhooks

  1. Save the import, open it and expand Webhook URL.
  2. Select Create webhook URL and copy it. It is shown only once; anyone with the URL can start the import, so keep it private.
  3. Call it with an HTTP POST from Airtable Automations, Zapier, Make or any other system. Opening it in a browser only shows a confirmation page.

A webhook can start an import up to 60 times per hour. Create a new URL replaces the old one, which stops working immediately.

Airtable buttons

For an import that uses Run for each record, the webhook panel also shows an Airtable button formula. In Airtable, add a Button field with the action “Open URL” and paste the formula. A click opens a confirmation page and runs the import for that one record.

Airtable change triggers

Expand Airtable trigger to start the import when records change in an Airtable table. Choose the Changes that start the import: Record created, Record updated, Record deleted or Record entered the view (with a Watched view), then select Create trigger.

Sequences

A sequence runs saved imports in a fixed order, for example customers before the invoices that link to them. On the Sequences page, add imports with Add import to sequence, choose Stop on error or Continue after errors, and save. A sequence can run by hand, on a schedule, from a webhook or from an Airtable trigger. Each step is checked like a single import.
